@ChrisJustinParr Your sarcasm is misguided as you don’t understand how tablets work. Most apps remain “on” even when you exit them. It makes no diff because they’re so small it doesn’t affect usage. When you exit your browser, switch off the ipad, and return to it the next day it’ll still be on the page you left. For huge apps like this, having an option to properly exit the game is a def bonus

@chessmassacre Totally. The cities felt like they were developing instead of being some boring text list of buildings. The new civilization is far from perfect. It’s pretty fun though!

I agree, I really miss viewing what I was building. It gave it more depth into reality. Made you feel like you personally owned things, instead of godmode where everything is so clerical.
@olliezero Yeah I would love to see a new version with the old city view graphics showing the city get built in real time as you add buildings and Wonders of the World, that was one of the coolest parts of making a city. Also a way to see the palace building again and manually choosing parts for it the way it was before. And finally streamlining the popup boxes so all the redundant stuff goes away and therefore removes frustration, thousands of clicks, and time waste… Would be awesome.
@pulseforce Okay, I see where you’re getting at. I agree with your point actually. Maybe a fix in Civ5?
@pulseforce Oops, accidentally deleted the original comment. However, to anyone reading this, just read further comments below by me and Ollie and you’ll figure out what it was about. In summary, it was a warning that the average game lasts 4-6 hours which is too much for some people, so be warned (I love the length though). The other thing I mentioned was how this game goes berzerk with CONSTANT popup dialog boxes. They could easily cut the amount of boxes in half and not miss out on anything.
@pulseforce I still have fond memories of going home to my mate, the only one who had a computer, and gathering to play Civilization, Scorched Earth or Prince of Persia. We used to gather a bunch of cousins and friends and have so much fun. Civilization games usually spanned a few evenings, whereas the typical Scorch game was more like a few hours. I miss the complexity of the original Civilization, and of seeing the cities and palace get built. They should re-add the “city view” graphics.
@pulseforce The PC version is much more tedious and complex. Games usually go more than 8 hours. Be thankful. lol.
